Literature and History

Literature and history are disciplines that have been in contact for centuries. This series of lectures was based on the sharing of the work of academicians who produce in both disciplines. In this event, Asst. Prof. Dr. Uygar Aydemir compared the relationship between historical truth and fiction based on Cenab Şahabeddin's travel text. Dr. Mehmet Kuru presented his findings on the emergence of Aesop texts in various libraries around the world. Asst. Prof. Dr. Emrah Pelvanoğlu shared his methodological readings and ideas through the concept of "meta-history" which is based on his latest book called Tanzimat ve Meta-Tarih: Namık Kemal'in Tarih Anlatılarının Poetikası.
