Minor and Double-Major Programmes
DOUBLE MAJOR/MINOR EDUCATION
Enables successful students enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Doguş University, in case they want this and meet the requirements of it, to receive two seperate diplomas, one of which is the second bachelor’s degree program or to be informed in another bachelor’s degree program that they are interested in. Students who successfully complete a double major are given a bachelor's diploma of that department, and students who successfully complete a minor are given a certificate related to that department.
Double Major-Minor transactions are carried out according to on 24 April 2010 published and effectuated “Regulation on the Principles of Transfer between Associate Degree and Undergraduate Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer” and on 2 August 2021 confirmed “Doğuş University Double Major and Minor Program Directive”. Students who want to do a double major or minor in an English program must meet the English Preparatory success requirement.
Double Major Application Requirements
- In accordance with the “Dogus University Double Major and Minor Program Directive”, the students of the Sociology department can do a Double Major in other departments with at least 80 ECTS credits overlapping with their departments. These departments are determined as: The departments of Psychology, Political Science and Public Administration, Economics, Business Administration and International Relations - and, if any, the same departments that provide education in English-(See Related directive Appendix 1.). In order to do a Double Major with English departments, our students must document their language proficiency.
- Students who want to apply for the Double Major program must have a minimum GPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 and be in the top 20% success rating in their first major programs. It is possible to apply to double major programs at the beginning of the 3rd semester at the earliest, and at the beginning of the 5th semester at the latest.
Minor Application Requirements
Students of the Department of Sociology can apply to the Minor Program in almost all departments in other faculties, except for the Faculty of Engineering. (For the departments that can be made a minor, see Appendix 4.) Students who want to apply for a minor program must have a GPA of at least 2.50 out of 4.00 in their majors and it is possible to apply to minor programs at the beginning of the 3rd semester at the earliest and at the beginning of the 6th semester at the latest.
